Leeds Safeguarding Adults Board Website

"People cannot use what they cannot find, so redesigning the website to be accessible and intuitive for all users was a key priority."

The Leeds Safeguarding Adults Board website is the city's central resource for protecting adults with care and support needs from abuse, neglect, and self-neglect. It supports a wide range of users, including:

  • Adults with care and support needs, such as those with age-related frailty, disabilities, mental health needs, or long-term conditions.
  • Family carers, concerned neighbours, and members of the public who want to report concerns.
  • Professionals such as social workers, nurses, GPs, housing officers, and care providers, who rely on the site for policies, procedures, and resources.

The site serves two distinct audiences:

  1. Members of the public, who need accessible, easy-to-understand information about safeguarding and what they can do.
  2. Professionals, who require detailed procedural guidance and practice resources.

To meet these needs, the new site has been redesigned to:

  • Improve accessibility and ease of navigation for all users.
  • Provide clear, simple information for the public.
  • Offer professionals detailed guidance in user-friendly formats, transitioning large PDF documents into accessible webpages where possible.

Make it easier to find and access key resources, ensuring safeguarding guidance is effectively used.
